The 4th Commandment
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011
The 4th Commandment states, “Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.”
In one of my recent Bible studies, we discussed our personal rules for the Sabbath and the traditions that our families grew up with. I’ll start by saying that I grew up in a Christian household, I am pretty involved in my church, and the importance of the Sabbath has never been stressed to me. Or maybe I never paid enough attention.
That can’t be it.
But it probably is.
Bibles On Your Phone
Monday, February 7th, 2011Do you have a smartphone? If not, you know it’s only a matter of time before you either:
A) take the plunge
B) wait so long that you have no other options
There are a lot of cool things about a smartphone, but one of them that is so appealing to me is the ability to download apps (even better when they are free)! One of the apps that I find most valuable is the YouVersion Bible App.
Have You Heard About This Bible?
Monday, January 17th, 2011A Lutheran school in Wisconsin has found a Bible under a stack of other books and pamphlets… and it is 340 years old! According to CNN’s Belief Blog, the Bible was published in Germany in 1670 and weighs 20 pounds. It is also partially made up of pig skin and includes many pictures from different Biblical stories.
Our Bibles don’t tell a different story than they did 340 years ago, but let’s hope yours isn’t made of old pig skin (unless, of course, that’s your kind of thing)!
What a cool find!
